Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan, we’re going to be test fitting the 22 x 59 Rola Cargo Carrier for 2″ hitches, Part number 59502. We already have it installed on our Caravan, let’s go and take a closer look at it.This has a carrying capacity of 600 lbs. which is a little bit more than most cargo carriers. It also has this nice mesh floor here, which is going to make it easier to clean. And it has several points around it to serve as tie-down points for your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. At the ends here, we do have two reflective surfaces.

Now these can be removed and replaced with a lighting system which is sold separately. And also, with our exhaust, but it actually faces down away from the cargo carrier itself, so you’re not going to have any issues with heat sensitive materials when you’re loading those up, mainly because they’re already shanked 00:00:50 to this as well.I’d like to give you a couple quick measurements. From the edge of our bumper to our outer edge here, we’ve added about 31″ to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance, that’s to this edge here, that’s about 15-1/4″. And the closest point is going to be about 7″ to this edge here.

Now right now with nothing in it, of course we have full access to our rear hatch, as you can see. But next I’m going to give you a break over point measurement, and that’s going to be the point where the hatch will actually come into contact with whatever it is you’re hauling. That looks like to be about 13″, so just keep that in mind when you’re loading up your gear.It actually comes with an anti-rattle bolt, which when tightened down will take out the shake and play in the shank and make for a little bit of a smoother and quieter ride. And that’s what sets it apart from the other cargo carriers as well, because most would actually have the pin sold separately, or just a regular pin and clip, which would cause a little bit of rattle while you’re driving.This is our test course, lets start with the slalom. This shows side to side action, such as turning corners or evasive maneuvering.

Then on to our alternating speed bumps. This shows twisting action such as hitting curbs, potholes, road debris, or uneven pavement. And last of all, the solid speed bumps. This shows up and down action, such as driving through a parking lot or parking garage, or driving in and out of a driveway.There you have it for the Rola Cargo Carrier on our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan.
