Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan we’re going to be Rhino-Rack pioneer platform universal mount cargo basket, part number RR42115BF. The Rhino-Rack pioneer platform is great for solving the problem of not enough space in your vehicle or you wanna make more space inside your vehicle by letting up your luggage, your sporting goods equipment, or your camping gear. This cargo carrier is nice and flat with plenty of tie-down portions and plenty of space to load your gear as well. There’s a wide variety of features that you can utilize and put on the T-track systems up on the top, anything from eyelet tie-downs to shovel holders as well. You can find these all on etrailer.com.As far as the carrying capacity is concerned, what they recommend is you go by the manufacturer’s weight recommendations for your roof and load it from there. And as you can see, there’s plenty of space between our hatch and the pioneer platform, so that’s not gonna be an issue either.Now that we’ve gone over some of the features of the pioneer platform, let’s go ahead and show you how it installs.
We already have a roof rack on our vehicle, so we’ll take the platform and we’ll set it down on our roof rack, push up, and just kinda wiggle it backwards, back and forth, until it’s nice and even in the center and even on both sides here, and then we can start attaching it to our roof rack.So we’ll first take our plastic bracket here, set that on top of our bar where the holes are coming down on either side. Then we’ll take our metal bracket here, so this edge here’s gonna fit with the lip on the inside like so and snap into place. Next we’ll get our bottom brackets and our bolts and start attaching. Up. Line up the holes, and then we’ll take our included Allen tool and tighten them down.
Gonna get this nice and snug on both sides, and we’ll repeat this process for our other attachment points.Now with everything attached, we’re ready to load up our gear and hit the road.
