I’ve removed thousands of front bumper covers in the process of doing auto body and paint work. This one was tricky, and had me stuck. Here’s a trick required to remove it:
Simply insert a flat screwdriver between the retainer bracket and the lip of the bumper cover. This will release the “grab tabs” and allow the cover to be pulled outward from the fender. Without prying the retainer down, if won’t release, and feels like the retainer will break (brittle black plastic). Insert a flat screwdriver in, and pop the cover outward from the fender easily!
