Dodge Key FOB Rebuild
Key FOB has stopped working. Dodge Dealer wants $350 for a new key and FOB with programming.
I purchased a compatible Key FOB on the Internet. Rather than reprogram the Key FOB, I switched the circuit board from the old FOB and put it in the new key FOB. This successfully started the Van, however the rebuilt unit will NOT open the locks. Alternately, the metal key from the old FOB will open the door. Upon exiting the vehicle the doors can be locked by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door.
This is NOT as good of a solution as having the dealer program the unit. However, as a backup key, it will do the job.
Applicable unit is 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan
