Instrument cluster quick fix in a pinch
There was a problem where once in a while the 1998 Town and Country wouldn’t start – or it would start and then turn right off like the anti theft was activating. The instrument cluster console wouldn’t look right even though there was a good charge. My mechanic thought maybe it was the starter and fuel pump. At the Chyslerminivan net forum there were suggestions – that a common problem with these Chryslers had bad solder joints in the instrument cluster that needed to be resoldered. I was stuck in a remote parking lot one time and I swatted the dashboard – thank you Authur Fonzerelli – Happy Days Juke Box and it was enough to make the cluster respond – I then drove back home and made the repair.
