My car key remote stopped working, and my key was too worn out to use on the door to open it manually! Here’s what went wrong and what I did!
Firstly, it’s common for these keys to break apart (the metal clip that holds the battery comes loose). I fixed this by soldering,
Then, I replaced the battery.
Finally, the remote had unpaired itself, so we had to pair it back to the car. You can do this by placing it in the ignition (had to enter the car using a coat hanger), holding the lock/unlock buttons, and turning it into the on position.
