The Chrysler Corporation, as well as other modern car manufacturers, is using a new coolant mixture for newer engines.
Chrysler’s new OAT coolant is purple of color, and it is not compatible nor interchangeable with HOAT (pink color) or IAT (comes in green, yellow, or blue color).

Since ethylene glycol doesn’t transfer as much heat as an equivalent amount of water, which can result in the engine overheating. Keep concentrations of 50 percent to 60 percent water/glycol.

To measure the concentration of coolant, it is best to use a refractometer. They come in many variations with different scales for coolant, battery acid, wiper fluid, salinity, and more… On Ebay or Amazon they are available between $15 and $20 at the moment. They last a lifetime, if handled correctly, and they are very accurate.

In this video i show how to take a sample from the vehicle, and I compare the measurement with the ready to use 50/50 Mopar Antifreeze Coolant mixture.
