Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Dodge Durango we’re going to be looking at the best custom fit vehicle wiring. We’re gonna have a Tekonsha seven pole part number 22113. Here we’re gonna have the Curt part number 56198. Over here we’re gonna have the Tekonsha part number 118617. These two here, your Tekonsha and your Curt, these two are gonna be basically, just a basic trailer with lights. Whereas, your Tekonsha seven pole is gonna give you the option to run a trailer that has brakes, or you can also, it also comes with a brake controller adapter.
Which, if you decide to add a brake controller onto your vehicle, it’ll plug directly into your adapter, which also plugs into the wiring lines.Your Tekonsha wiring is gonna have a four point two amp, stop and turn and a seven point five on your tail lights. Whereas your Curt is gonna have a three amp on your stop and turn and a six amp for your tail lights. Your Tekonsha’s are gonna have 15 amp fuses, where your Curt is only gonna have a 10 amp fuse. The Tekonshas have a higher output, is gonna alow you to run more lights off your trailer. Whereas the Curt will still work, however the outputs gonna be lower.
Now as far as ease of install, your Curt and your Tekonsha four pole here are gonna be easier to install because they’re basically just for a basic trailer, lighting. Again, they hook directly in your tail lights. You run your four pole out the back and your power wire up to the front. Whereas your Tekonsha seven pole is gonna be a little bit more involved. However, it’s gonna give you a little bit more versatility with trailer options.All three of these wiring harnesses are gonna be similar in the fact that they all hook up the same.
They’re all gonna hook directly into your tail lights. All three are gonna be fuse protected. All three are gonna have converter boxes. What the converter boxes are gonna do is just taking the signal to run it to your trailer. They’re also gonna protect your vehicle from any back feed from your trailer if you trailer has any wiring issues.
