The new Magnum is a terrific looking car that will get your next-door neighbors talking as you rumble around the block. The distinct styling of the Magnum will likewise bring in gawkers through 18-22 years of age people pointing for their buddies to “check that out”. And a few people will approach you as you are filling up the gas tank to ask, “Does it actually have a Hemi?”, with only an unclear notion that it in some way makes the cars and truck better. The Magnum is provided with lots of different engine sizes (either a 6-cylinder or 8-cylinder) with your choice of horse power output of 190, 250, 340 and 425. The rate of the car also refers the engine size starting at $30,345 to the pricey STR-8 model for $37,320. A huge part of the mystique around this cars and truck is the Hemi engine. The Hemi is short for hemispherical combustion chamber, which produces more efficient fuel burning and enables bigger valves for better airflow. Essentially, it produces more power than an engine with its displacement would normally produce. (There are also disadvantages to the Hemi, which is why it isn’t really the only engine that Chrysler produces). The interior of the vehicle looks far more expensive than you ‘d expect for the cost of the Magnum. Considering that Mercedes bought Chrysler, the Dodge automobiles I’ve sampled have had a sharp enhancement in interior quality. While on the road, the vehicle is really solid and the seats are comfy even on long highway runs. As much as I like the looks, after owning it a while I truly need to question the style idea that the Magnum deals. It is a station wagon developed to carry a lot of individuals and a lot of stuff. However mating this with an effective engine with the taught racing-like suspension is unpleasant for both. It resembles having a Corvette tow a small trailer, and you are in the trailer and the Corvette motorist is 15 years-old, pushing the automobile to its limitations. (Only a real Corvette has a a lot more comfy suspension than the Magnum). Even owning on smooth roads, the steering is extremely darty and difficult to manage. And with a large automobile, all that weaving and roadway feedback is exaggerated for the passengers and whatever you’ve saved in the back. I like having a navigation system, however finding out ways to use it with the guiding wheel controls made me regularly describe the user’s manual. In spite of the high horsepower and low-end torque I played with when beginning with a complete stop, the RT model I drove averaged 20 MPG on the higway. Exactly what I presume to be the target market for this car, those 18-22 year-old guys that I pointed out, will probably love this automobile. And as much as I love driving sports cars, the darty steering and sharp suspension make it too uneasy with no spectacular benefit. The 0-60 sprint is enjoyable for a little while, but I ‘d hand down buying a Magnum as a day-to-day driving lorry.
