The new Magnum is an excellent looking automobile that will get your neighbors talking as you rumble around the block. The distinct styling of the Magnum will also bring in gawkers in the type of 18-22 years of age men pointing for their pals to “inspect that out”. And a few people will approach you as you are filling up the gas tank to ask, “Does it really have a Hemi?”, with just an unclear notion that it somehow makes the automobile better. The Magnum is provided with many various engine sizes (either a 6-cylinder or 8-cylinder) with your option of horse power output of 190, 250, 340 and 425. The rate of the automobile also refers the engine size starting at $30,345 to the expensive STR-8 design for $37,320. A huge part of the mystique around this automobile is the Hemi engine. The Hemi is brief for hemispherical combustion chamber, which develops more effective fuel burning and enables larger valves for better air flow. Basically, it produces more power than an engine with its displacement would usually produce. (There are also drawbacks to the Hemi, which is why it isn’t really the only engine that Chrysler produces). The interior of the automobile looks much more expensive than you ‘d anticipate for the rate of the Magnum. Since Mercedes purchased Chrysler, the Dodge cars I’ve tested have actually had a sharp improvement in interior quality. While on the road, the automobile is very solid and the seats are comfortable even on long highway runs. As much as I like the looks, after owning it a while I really need to question the design idea that the Magnum offers. It is a station wagon built to transport a great deal of people and a great deal of stuff. However mating this with an effective engine with the taught racing-like suspension is uncomfortable for both. It resembles having a Corvette tow a little trailer, and you are in the trailer and the Corvette chauffeur is 15 years-old, pressing the automobile to its limits. (Only a real Corvette has a far more comfortable suspension than the Magnum). Even owning on smooth roadways, the steering is very darty and difficult to manage. And with a big automobile, all that weaving and road feedback is overemphasized for the travelers and everything you’ve saved in the back. I like having a navigation system, but figuring out ways to use it with the guiding wheel controls made me regularly refer to the user’s handbook. In spite of the high horse power and low-end torque I had fun with when beginning with a full stop, the RT design I drove averaged 20 MPG on the higway. What I presume to be the target audience for this automobile, those 18-22 year-old men that I discussed, will probably like this automobile. And as much as I like owning cars, the darty steering and sharp suspension make it too uncomfortable without any amazing payoff. The 0-60 sprint is fun for a little while, but I ‘d pass on buying a Magnum as an everyday owning automobile.
