Dodge Viper Rear End The final 2017 Dodge Viper and 2018 Challenger SRT Demon were auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson over the weekend and, as expected, they garnered a lot of interest from bidders. When bidding finally ended, the pair sold for $1 million. That’s significantly more than their combined MSRPs but somewhat disappointing considering the first Challenger SRT Hellcat sold for $1.65 million back in 2014.The figure also matches the price for the first 2015 Shelby GT350R and is less than the first 2014 Corvette Stingray which sold for $1.1million The final Challenger SRT Demon rolled off the assembly line back in May and it features an exclusive Viper Red exterior.Of course, the car’s biggest asset is its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine which produces up to 840 hp (626 kW / 851 PS) and 770 lb-ft (1,042 Nm) of torque. It enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.3seconds and run the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph (225 km/h).While the Demon has gotten a lot of publicity over the past year, the final Viper is also pretty interesting. The model was built in the summer of 2017 and it pays tribute to the first-generation Viper RT/10.Underneath the Viper Red paint job is an 8.4-liter V10 engine which produces 645 hp (481 kW / 654 PS) and 600 lb-ft (814 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which sends power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. The Demon and Viper pair were the most expensive models sold during the auction and all the money will be going to the United Way.The winning bidder wasn’t named but, besides the cars, they’ll get several pieces of memorabilia including custom build sheets, authenticity letters and iPads loaded photos and videos of the cars.
